Keller Drilling &
Well Service operates one Failing CF-15 rotary drilling
rig which is competitive from 100 feet to 900 feet. We
use drill bits from 7-7/8" to 12-1/4" and set casing
from 4-1/2" to 8-5/8" diameter, PVC or steel.
We employ
the slotted screen method by setting .020" factory cut PVC
screens or .020" pipe base stainless steel screens, with
gravel pack of fine gravel or coarse sand.
We seal
the well from the surface with a bentonite seal or
pumped cement.
We drill
residential irrigation wells, house wells, commercial
water supply wells, and Barnett Shale water supply
wells.
WELL DESIGN
We
conduct a thorough needs analysis for the customer
prior
to drilling the well.
We use
the information from wells that we have drilled combined
with well records from other drillers to best predict
well results. Certain areas may deliver quite prolific
wells, where others result in dry holes. Our goal is to
reduce dry hole results, and sometimes we may recommend
against the customer's desire to drill.
We
attempt to determine the actual water demand by volume
and pressure, and write our own specifications as to
well size, depth, horsepower requirements. It is most
important that well output is known prior to designing
any irrigation system as an imbalance in well volume and
system demand creates undesirable results.
We
attempt to predict water chemistry of the well based
upon local knowledge and sample analysis and seal off
undesirable layers. Examples of undesirable water
include certain layers contaminated with iron bacteria,
and areas having a high total alkalinity. Both of these
contaminants may result in staining or inadequate growth
of landscape plants.
Keller Drilling &
Well Service
uses only quality products, such as slotted
PVC casing from
